I am Rachel and I am a sixteen years old sophomore, who was born on 11-12-92 and who enjoys philosophy. I am visually impaired, more specifically, I am totally blind with congenital cataracts, Glaucoma, retina detachment, and dried eyes. I can only see light, and manage well. No, I usually do really well when it comes to life, I am independent, and my eye condition doesn’t effect my mental capacity. I like to think, read, write, study philosophy, and have philosophical discussions. I do a lot of thinking and pondering, and even as I walk to class or take a shower, I think about philosophical matters.
NO, I am not an Objectivist, but I have tooken this oath for myself
I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.
I love to bug my teachers about theories behind the lesson, and ask about the nature of the concepts, it’s almost a hobbie. it’s amusing, really!!!!I value honesty, loyalty, trustworthiness, sincerity, being a good conversationalist, intellectual mentality, good explanations and descriptions, Capital, Gains, money, the brain, thinking, individualism, ego, happiness (not the fun kind,) elitist, philosophical reads, and philosophy. Most of my true friends are elitists, and high class businessmen or people with that flare. My friends could really be cruel and intimidating, but they are honest and sincere. I really need philosophy and honest sincere friends in life to keep me in check and my consciousness clear as they are very essential to life. I am basically all the things I value, rationalist, capitalist, A independent (political,) leader, creator and producer, individualist, moralist, egoist, intellectual, philosophical, debatable, powerful, loyal, honest, sincere, a good conversationalist, persuasive, proud, harsh, and both an acquaintance and a friend has said a slap in the face, intellectually. No, I don’t believe in a God or rather I am unclear about it, and until I can see there is one in some believeable way, I will not believe in a God. So, yes, I am an atheist. I am also a private philosophy student, in the literal sense. No, I don’t attend a philosophy class nor do I want to in this day and age, but I do study it alone. I am a loud honest person who doesn’t mind being rude and straight forward. You know the type of person society calls “filthy Rich” or Greedy and selfish people?” Yes, that’s what I want to be. If I really like something, I’ll definitely really advocate and pursue it. I’ll work at it, and vigorously fight until the end. This applies to many things, however especially philosophy. I constantly fight for what I believe, mostly true friendship, reason, and honesty.
I have always liked morals, and my main goal is to understand life fully. I am an Aristotelian. I advocate against many philosophies, but the main ones are Platonism, Marxism, and Kantianism, which doesn’t make sense anyways. I enjoy collecting quotations from intellectuals and assemble them for myself.
I enjoy writing not for the sake of writing or to please people. It’s to create, and show the world the real meaning to life. I create not to amuse people, but to amuse myself. I am a loud person who likes my ideas heard, and won’t keep still until they are, and I don’t give a damn if people want to hear it or not. I do things for my own good and myself, and no one else. I am only friends with who really deserves friendship, and truthfully, I only consider one person a friend.
No, I don’t like what today's generation calls debating, I think that’s a waist of time, but I think that an intellectual philosophical discussion is the most benefitial.
My life’s goal is to be powerful, rise to the top of society and be one of the many elitists.
I’ve changed my mind many times, and it was part of being distracted by my smaller goals, but I think I might just look in to business and perhaps writing on the side.
I take myself as my role model for myself, because that’s the only person who can live my life. However, I have to thank Ayn Rand, and a few not so famous people for helping me to become who I am today.
I write mainly for myself, however you are welcome to review. If it helps you out, I am delighted, but most of these are for me. However, when you review, I prefer if you gave your review some direction and thought, so it is actually worth the read through. Now, I don't plan to play the game where we have to prance around the bush in order to talk to each other at all. I will reply to your review very honestly and to the point. I'll put down what I have to say, and only that. I don't prefer fans over critiquers, I see them as equal. I don't really care if you do, either, as I don't write for anyone but myself, so there is no prejudices there. Please, don’t expect me to return reviews, I only review if I really have something to say.
My writings are always litteral pieces. I don't waste my time with symbolism, or that sort of shit. They contain a lot of reasoning even if they are school pieces, analyzing literature.
I am more about the way one communicates their ideas and the ones they communicate, and how well they do it. I am not really big on the grammar, spelling, and appearance of the characters (in stories,) it’s the ideas I care about.
I am always on the go with writings, I always am writing, however, I’ll not bother you with what I am current writing. It’s always pieces about society though.
I am currently reading The Ominous parallels.
My favorite Authors are Ayn Rand, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. My favorite actor is Gary Cooper. My favorite books are Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, The Voice Of Reason by Ayn Rand (and there is some essays in their by Lenard Peikoff), The Ominous Parallels by Leonard Peikoff, The Fair Tax Book by Neal Boortz, The Passion Of Ayn Rand by Barbara Branden, and Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. If you are board and need something to read, I recommend you do pick one of these up, as they are worth the time, and you might actually learn something new, especially Ayn Rand's work, they are excellent books to study!! My favorite movie is The Fountainhead.
My favorite song by far is the fair tax song by Neal Boortz, come now, it actually talks about something worth listening to.
My favorite poem is "If"
