How to effectively get active members?

Anyone want to discuss opinions on how to get active members?

Personally, I suggest affiliation and being active on other forums.

That's a good one, a thing many is struggling with.

I've personally found it better to concentrate your forums topic, unless you yourself have a big following. I have gotten more results by concentrating the forums aim with writing then I was at making a general forum. Also you need dedication, act like you care, have a good attitude, except people in your circle and encourage them to not to be afraid to join in. A bit of a FDR kind of attitude. Also don't give up. I gave up easily before and this forum has just taught me not to.

Yeah, the part about not giving up is important. Most sites that aren't started by a group of 5 or more dedicated members have months of inactivity.

Oh, also another good one. It happened to me.

When you have a dedicated member who is willing to devote themselves don't discourage and insult them. Also make sure that members can respect others. Even in the debate board. Teach your members if necessary that debates is not where you insult another member about not knowing the topic, when they clearly shown you how much they known.

I decided not to have a debate board in Mega Chillax after seeing some big arguments on ProBoars Support. Lol....

Yeah, PB support stuff can get dirty. I don't know about and also in the chat, I felt a bit foreign. That's another little thing about owning a board, being completely open and rady to except people.

Also it's helpful to get people from other forum providers.
