The Woman Who Could
"You can't eat your cake and have it, too." Ayn Rand. The voice of Reason is almost refreshing in this day and age, because it is so hard to find people who can think in such a fashion that is clearly rational. Although Ayn Rand, born in 1905, is dead and gone she provides much light to the key to life, and gives much hope to which direction we must fight for the future. The true dedication Ms. Rand had for her work, which are her novels and the responsibilities to spread objectivist thought was enormous. She was dedicated in her efffort to spread her ideas and to write her philosophy down.
Ayn Rand was a Philosopher who was born in Russia in 1905. She went to school in Russia, and then moved to the United States. In her university years she studied Aristotle's philosophy, and also history. Her passion was in the spread of ideas, and she desired to write. She then moved to America first arriving in California. Over the years, she wrote screenplays, essays, lectures, and novels. Ran, the abstract philosopher was best known for her two novels, Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead.
Ms. Rand's work was purely philosophical and the dedication is in the presentation of the idea. From writing her novels, lectures, articles, and speeches to lecturing at lecture halls or simply discussing philosophy with people, Rand, was always dedicated to her work. When she was discussing philosophy or lecturing, she would be deeply devoted to spreading the ideas. She spoke with a tone of urgency, and worked hard to make people understand the concepts. Dr. Lenard Peikoff wrote in The epilogue of The Voice Of REASON that Rand would be so deeply dedicated in expressing her ideas to him, who was one of the many followers, that she forgot about dinner, and she did not eat until well after midnight.
She was so dedicated to getting her ideas out there she did almost anything no matter how much time she spend in doing so. She wrote her own screenplay for the movie fountainhead and was dedicated in fighting for the right to film the movie exactly the way the script was written. She was so devoted that when the movie industry refused to turn Atlas Shrugged into a movie, she wrote her own mini television series, which never was finished, because of her death in 1983.
In conclusion, Ayn Rand the supreme egoest and objectivist, was successful in her career only because she was devoted and dedicated. Without her dedication, Ms. rand's philosophy would not have been so widespread. In fact, if she was not dedicated that would have been a contradiction to objectivism. Hard work, efffort and dedication leads to success and success is good.
