Rules Of The Writing Jems
Hello, welcome to the rules and the board. You are most welcome to stay here to post, chat, roleplay, read and comment. This board is a pretty free board. You need not be afraid of me, the rules, or to make decisions. I do not police words and actions. I am easier then a lot of forum administrators and a lot more compassionate. Yes, I have standards but I believe strongly in individuality. These rules are easy to follow, and I am sure you will be able to do so. If any of these rules is a problem for you, please come forth to discuss the matter with me at any time you’d like. Send me a Private message or electronic mail. I check those at least once a day. These rules are here to keep the forum in order and they are only the essentials. Forum Goers will receive five to seven warnings before they are not permitted to return.
General Rules
1. You may question the rules. I don’t have a problem explaining them.
2. You may not break the rules without a good reason. “I don’t feel like following the rules,” “I don’t like the rules,” or “the rules don’t make me happy,” are not valid reasons. If you have a moral reason for breaking them, and can explain that to me, that will be fine.
3 Please do not sign up just to get us another member. We rather have activity looking good rather then high member counts in our statistics.
3. Please act morally. I will not put rational rules up here, you know them. Please act accordingly and you’ll be fine. E.G. Don’t spam or don’t flame (without good reason)
4. Please try to stay on here and not desert the form. Now I don't mean like the other once a day, or even once a week, but you can make it back somewhere in two months. If you are absent for three months we will delete your account. I think that's pretty fair.
4. Please use only one account and one account only. Please do everything in one, except if you choose to co-write.
5. check your message every so often when the top P.m. bar says you have something new or at least look at the name. I do send out important notes through Private messages.
5. Works, graphics, skins, codes and whatever you contribute here is yours and will remain yours, so demand whatever is good for your things. Ask for it's removal or if you can whenever you want it. Unless you voluntarily hand these things over to us, it's yours.
6. Please don't stir up trouble. Respect others ideas and if you don't agree, there's no need to cause them to feel unwelcome
7. no trolling.
8. Do not Plagiarize any published works or pieces post on here. Please do not attempt it even if you have the owners name scribbled all over it.
9. try and respect questions. If you have a really good reason to be against a post there then give it, and if not, it should not look like you are trying to bash them.
10. I choose staff members by my own judgment and convictions, so staff request is not my way for picking people. You may ask however, but don't be shocked when my answer is no.
11. Yes you may question staff, but please do it in a moral fashion.
12. For staff and members, If you have a problem with the manner in which they act please do try to talk to them first about there problems, and then if they don't give you a hearing, you may discuss the facts with a staff or rather a fellow staff member. Note, I said fact, so please nothing more. Please DO NOT gossip about them with other members.
13. Please talk in the talk sections and not in the writings. Talk about the stories only in the writing ones.
14. I don’t require you to tell me or to talk to me first if you are having a problem with another member, I actually advise you to be honest and tell the other person what the problem is. Then, if you both can’t come to any resolves, then you may talk to me.
15. You may not falsely accuse and point fingers at people and yes, even if you hate them. Please go do something more productive. You can’t call someone gay just because you disagree with their political views.
16. Topics debating gay marriage and abortion is permited here. If you are gay, please don't throw a fit just because there is a topic here. Simply explain to them what they say is wrong perhaps why, and if you have to go ahead and prove them wrong. Just because there are gays and bisexuals here I won't stop anyone from holding a debate about it.
17. Please don’t advertise this board on fanfiction.net, fictionpress, Myspace, Facebook, or any other unmoderated cites.
18. If you advertise here, you do not have to put our add on your board.
19. (Not strictly a rule, but good advice) Be careful how much personal information you pass out.
20. Please, don’t write in leet (1337( or chat speak. Save that for your mobile phones or your chat rooms.
21. Please reply with more than one word, unless you simply have to.
22. Cussing is fine, there is just guidelines
If you want to cuss in your stories that's fine, put a rating on it, and also with describing stuff.
In debates, of course you can, I don't expect a thread without cussing. It's kind of a way to express anger.
For other threads if you wish to, put in a tag or something. A rating Tag could do the trick.
23. Mini modding is fine only when a very good reason could be given for doing so. This should be done very rarely if at all. If you do it, please keep all insults out, be very direct, objective, exacting, and make sure that's all you are doing. Afterwards please p.m. me or any of the staff around here.
24. Please ask questions if necessary.
25. Please be honest with the staff, here. I don't like dishonesty, and a lie will only make things worse. We'll be just to you and we expect the same
Moderation Rules
1. Please do your jobs. I will remove your title if you don’t do them.
2. Please don’t sensor language without a good reason.
3. Look out for trolls and spammers. Please delete posts like that.
4. Don’t delete posts without a good reason.
5. Please check all threads under your moderation.
6. Staff's warnings should be insult free, not repetitive, to the point, objective, honest, and as kind as you can make it. If someone has already reasonably mini modded and has told them, go even lighter.
7. If you choose to inscribe a user note for a member please inform them what you wrote, no matter negative or positive.
8 No favoritism. John and Mary should receive the same warning no matter if John's your best friend or not.

3. Please no pointless junk. Make an actual point with your story., I mean no pointless stories that make no sense at all. E.G. 99 ways a chees burger could eat you!
4. No racist stories or things that encourages racism.
5. no I am bored type threads, that attracts spam, except in the randomnesses board and of course the last post wins for obvious reasons.
6. Please try your best to stay relevantly on topic and don't respond to randomness.
In a thread discussing the war in Iraq you may not randomly talk about Johny eating someone.
7. Please do not double post. Click modify and modify your previous post there. Yes, it takes a bit more work, but it's really better.
8. Please do not recreate existing threads. I don't want five copies of the thread. Lets just have one, and bring it back alive. If one changes there mind about it, then, simply post in that thread again.
9. No there is not a review about how much you must review or you must simply review. This a community that encourages choices and voluntary exchanges, but I recommend that you do comment on other's pieces.
10. Your pieces doesn't have to be perfect but try your best.
Advertising Rules
1. You must have six additional posts to post there. Make some attempt of trying
2. Please link to your own site
3. If you are only a member advertising a site, make sure you have consent from your administrator. I don't want flames rained down on me.
4. Do not advertise your site if there is already a ad of it.
5. Please make sure your site follows proboards rules.
Reviewing rules
1. Please do not flame or troll the forum when replying to review a story, no matter how much you hate the story or the person.
2. No, I won't restrict you as to how many praises or criticisms you can give, what order they are in, or what format you must use,, but please do be informative. If something is wrong, state what it is, why and how they can fix it. If it's praises, say, why it's good. "It's good," isn't enough. Why is it good?

3. Please make sure it's readable. You can probably figure out by now, that I am not the most perfect at spelling either, but hey, try to make it so people can actually read it.
4. Make some sense. "The pig ate the sky, and drank outerspace. It threw up a bunch of humans, and lived happily after all." I know that was ridiculous, but, that's what I mean, I have read stories that made no sense. So, please make some sense.
5. No CHAT SPEAK LEET (1334), random smilys, or short hand.
